He was also trolled badly despite a superb performance against Delhi Capitals. His former Uttar Pradesh and India teammate RP Singh came out to support his old friend.

Leg spinner Piyush Chawla bowled beautifully against Delhi at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium. He picked up three wickets in his quota of 4 overs, giving away only 22 runs. He contained Delhi batters nicely in middle overs. After that few fans trolled Delhi batters for falling against Piyush Chawla. Former Indian pacer RP Singh came out in support of Piyush and tweeted, “Few ‘experts’ have degraded Delhi Capitals batters for struggling against Piyush. They are shocked that Chawla who does not play regularly at first class level can trouble these batters”. Chawla has been bowling in a good rhythm in the IPL 2023.
