Top five player battles to watch out for in CHE vs KKR match No. 22 in IPL 2024
Match No. 22 of the IPL 2024 will host a CHE vs KKR contest on Monday at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
Fans will be treated to a big game on Monday when two big teams square off against each other. This will be the 22nd clash of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns with the two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
This game is scheduled to take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, Chennai. KKR have gotten off to a dream start in the ongoing season as they have won all three games so far. Their players are performing; the only issue is their bowling. On the other hand, CSK are coming off two consecutive defeats, which is not a regular sight. But they will fancy their chances because it is a home game for them.
CSK vs KKR: Head-to-head
Chennai Super Kings have won 18 out of 29 games played between the two teams. Kolkata Knight Riders have won 10 and one game was called off. Meanwhile, CSK have won four out of last six games played between the two.
CSK vs KKR: Top five player battles to watch
1. Sunil Narine vs Deepak Chahar
Sunil Narine will be a massive wicket in the game, and after what he did in the last game, he can be a destroyer with the bat upfront. Until he stays on the wicket, he will damage CSK. Deepak Chahar needs to do some tricks to get him out early on. He will smash the pace on deliveries, so Chahar needs to use his slower ones. He has dismissed Narine once in the IPL but has conceded 21 runs off seven balls.
2. Andre Russell vs Ravindra Jadeja
Andre Russell is the biggest match-winner for KKR with the bat. He has won many games for them and can do it again on Monday. But he will be against Ravindra Jadeja. The CSK star has dismissed him six times in international cricket, but he is yet to dismiss him in the IPL. Russell has scored 48 runs on 29 balls off Jadeja in the IPL.
3. Rachin Ravindra vs Mitchell Starc
One big battle will be with the new ball in the powerplay when Mitchell Starc bowls at Rachin Ravindra. Rachin is coming off with two low scores, but Starc has also not performed as per his standards. But we all know what these two can do on their given days. Hence, it will be a good battle to watch on Monday in Chennai.
4. Shivam Dube vs Sunil Narine
Not just with the bat, Sunil Narine will have a big role to play with the ball in hand. His four overs will be very crucial. There are chances that he will bowl to Shivam Dube, who is known to murder the spinners. But Narine hasn’t let him score freely so far. Though he hasn’t dismissed the left-hander, but Dube has only scored 23 runs off 22 balls from Narine, which is unlike what he does with spinners.
5. Ruturaj Gaikwad vs Varun Chakravarty
Another important battle for both teams will be how Varun Chakravarthy bowls at Ruturaj Gaikwad. The CSK captain hasn’t scored much in the IPL 2024, but he can deliver a captain’s knock in an important game on Monday. However, he has struggled against Varun Chakravarthy. The spinner has dismissed him twice in the IPL and given away only 35 runs off 36 balls, which is even less than a ball.
