Top five player battles to watch out for in CHE vs SRH match No. 46 in IPL 2024
CHE vs SRH clash in the IPL 2024 will take place on Sunday evening in Chennai.
The defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have seemed to have lost their way in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, as they have lost consecutive games, which has pushed them behind the playoffs race. CSK are currently placed sixth on the table with 8 points. But they will have an even bigger challenge in front of them.
CSK will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their next game on Sunday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Though SRH also lost their last game, they can’t be written off, especially the way they are batting. SRH have already beaten CSK once this season, and they can do it again.
CSK vs SRH: Head-to-Head:
The record of SRH is not good against CSK overall in the IPL. These two have crossed paths 20 times in total. CSK have won 14 games, and SRH have six wins to their name.
CSK vs SRH: Top five player battles to watch out for
1. Rutaraj Gaikwad vs T. Natarajan
The CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad is in good form and slammed a ton in the last game. But that came in a losing cause. However, he will look to take more responsibility to help his team win. However, T. Natarajan will be a big hurdle for him. It is a home venue for Natarajan, and he knows the conditions well. He has already dismissed Gaikwad twice in T20s in just 21 balls.
2. Shivam Dube vs Pat Cummins
Shivam Dube is CSK’s second-best batter this season, and his ability to hit sixes at any stage makes him a dangerous batter. His performance will be very crucial for CSK. But he will be up against one of the best modern-day pacers, Pat Cummins, who has a great head on his shoulders. Cummins would be smart enough to not bowl in Dube’s hitting zone and it would be a battle to watch out for in the game. Cummins dismissed Dube in their last meet as well.
3. Travis Head vs Ravindra Jadeja
Travis Head seems to struggle against spinners on spinning wickets, and that might be the tactics CSK would be working on. The pitch in Chennai will support spinners, which will make Ravindra Jadeja more lethal. He has already bowled at Head many times at the international level as well. Jadeja has dismissed Head four times in international cricket already. And if Head gets going, CSK will be in trouble.
4. Abhishek Sharma vs Deepak Chahar
Abhishek Sharma will be another exciting batter in the CSK vs SRH clash. He smashed a 12-ball 37 last time when he faced CSK bowlers. He is also in great form and can take the game away in the powerplay itself. However, Deepak Chahar has troubled him among the CSK bowling unit. He has dismissed him twice already in 8 balls but conceded 16 runs as well.
5. Heinrich Klaasen vs Matheesha Pathirana
Heinrich Klaasen will be a massive wicket if CSK can get him out early because he bats in the middle and final phases, he can take his team to a big score. But, to tackle him, CSK can rely on their best bowler, Matheesha Pathirana, who is bowling quick yorkers, which makes it hard for batters to get under and hit boundaries. It will be an exciting battle, and whoever wins will take his team to the top.
