Match No. 35 of IPL 2024 will be played between DC vs SRH on Saturday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The ongoing IPL 2024 is moving very fast and the second half of the group phase is about to begin. Match No. 35 will be played between two teams that are fighting for a place in the next round. Delhi Capitals (DC) will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 20 at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
SRH are currently placed fourth on the table with eight points. If they can manage a big win here, they could even jump to second place. But, it looks a bit difficult as DC have won their last two games and are looking in good shape.
DC vs SRH: Head-to-Head
The upcoming clash will be the 24th game between these two sides in the IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad are slightly ahead, as they have won 12 out of 23 games and Delhi Capitals have won 11.
DC vs SRH: Top five player battles to watch
1. Travis Head vs Ishant Sharma
Travis Head slammed a 39-ball ton in the last game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and has been in red-hot form. He will look to capitalize on it even more and take advantage of the shorter boundaries in Delhi.
But, DC need to find someone who can dismiss him early. Ishant Sharma is one such bowler who has a good record against the left-hander. These two have never met in the IPL, but Ishant has dismissed Head three times in international cricket.
2. Abhishek Sharma vs Khaleel Ahmed
Abhishek Sharma is another SRH batter who is in exceptional form. The left-hander is matching the power-hitting of Head and has scored runs. He has scored 211 runs at a strike rate of 197.19.
It will be important for DC to stop him. However, Abhishek has a weakness against left-armers and Khaleel Ahmed can certainly exploit it. He has bowled three balls to Abhishek and has dismissed him once in the IPL. His ability to take the ball away makes him a difficult bowler to face for left-handers.
3. Heinrich Klaasen vs Kuldeep Yadav
One important battle will be between the match-winners of either side. Heinrich Klaasen will be the biggest threat for DC and can take the game away from them in the middle overs.
But, he will have to face in-form Kuldeep Yadav, who has a number of variations. The wrist-spinner has dismissed Klaasen twice in ODIs. He has bowled 12 balls to Klaasen in the IPL and given away 11 runs. But, he hasn’t let the South African star get away.
4. Rishabh Pant vs Pat Cummins
One exciting battle in DC vs SRH will be between the two captains. Pat Cummins, who is the leading wicket-taker for SRH will be up against Rishabh Pant, who is the leading scorer for DC.
We have seen these two up against each other many times and those battles have been enjoyable. Cummins has dismissed Pant twice in ODIs. In the IPL, he has dismissed him once in 15 balls, whereas Pant has scored 19 runs off him.
5. David Warner vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Another big battle will be in the powerplay. David Warner, who missed the last game, is likely to come back and he is in good form this season. But, he will be up against his former teammate and a bowler who has good numbers against him, Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
This will be a key battle in the game. Bhuvneshwar has dismissed Warner four times in international cricket. In the IPL, Warner has only scored 18 runs off 29 balls he has faced from him at a strike rate of just 62.1 and Indian seamer has dismissed him once.
