GT vs CHE clash in the IPL 2024 will take place on Friday at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium.

The playoffs stage of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is not far away. Mumbai Indians were the first team to be officially eliminated from the playoffs race. Gujarat Titans (GT) seem to be the next one if they lose their coming match. GT are at the bottom of the points table with 8 points.

They will face the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the coming game on Friday, which will take place at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. CSK are currently placed fourth on the table, and a win here can help them jump to third place and move closer to the next round.

GT vs CSK: Head-to-Head

Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings played the final of the last season, and CSK won that game. These two teams have played six matches so far, and each team has won three games.

GT vs CSK: Top five player battles to watch out for

1. Ruturaj Gaikwad vs Noor Ahmad

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been the run machine this season and is giving CSK consistent starts in almost every game. His good starts push the opponent on the back foot. He is good against pacers but sometimes gets into trouble against spinners. And Noor Ahmad can be a threat to him. The duo has come up against each other for 12 balls, where Gaikwad has scored 14 runs and Noor has dismissed him once.

2. Shivam Dube vs Rashid Khan

There is no doubt about the power-hitting ability of Shivam Dube against the spin. He is one of the hardest hitters of the ball when he faces spinners. That’s what he has also shown this season. But it won’t be easy against Rashid Khan, who has control over his variations. Adding to that, Dube is also coming off two consecutive golden ducks, so it might be on his head. Rashid dismissed him in the last game, and Dube has scored 28 off 18 balls against him.

3. Shubman Gill vs Shardul Thakur

The GT skipper Shubman Gill has been in poor form, which has certainly affected his team’s performance. If he wants his team to do well in the coming game, then he needs to take more responsibility with the bat in his hand. Well, it won’t be easy, as CSK have good bowlers and Shardul Thakur is one of them. These two have played together in recent years. Shardul has dismissed Gill twice in the IPL in 31 balls, and Gill has scored only 36 runs off him.

4. Sai Sudharsan vs Richard Gleeson

Sai Sudharsan has been the best player for Gujarat Titans this season. The left-hander has scored runs in almost every game and takes the innings along. He will be looking to make an impact in the coming game as well as contribute to the team’s success. However, CSK have given chances to Richard Gleeson with the new ball, and he has done well. He swings the ball at a good pace and also gets extra bounce, this combination can be difficult to handle sometimes.

5. David Miller vs Ravindra Jadeja

David Miller is the key for GT down the order. He is their designated finisher in the team and can change the situation from any position. Miller has played some good innings and will be a key player in the GT vs CSK clash on Friday. However, he will be up against Ravindra Jadeja, who is coming off a MOTM performance. Jadeja has bowled smartly and has a decent record against Miller. He has dismissed the GT star twice in 70 balls, whereas Miller has scored 119 runs.
