Top five player battles to watch out for in GT vs RCB match No. 45 in IPL 2024
Match No. 45 of the IPL 2024 will host a GT vs RCB clash on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are almost out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as they are placed at bottom of the points table with only four points. They broke their losing streak of six matches with a win against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in their last outing.
Now they will travel to Ahmedabad to face Gujarat Titans (GT). This game will take place on Sunday evening at the Narendra Modi Stadium. GT are also in desperate need of a win after losing some crucial games. They have 8 points on the board, and a win can help them get two important points.
GT vs RCB: Head-to-Head
The next match will be the fourth game between these two teams in the IPL. GT have two wins, while RCB have won one.
GT vs RCB: Top five player battles to watch out for
1. Virat Kohli vs Rashid Khan
Virat Kohli is in good form, and he usually scores quickly within the powerplay, but after that, he tends to slow down when spinners are on. That’s why GT might use Rashid Khan against him. There are not many who can match Rashid’s skillset, so it will be a good battle to watch out for. He has dismissed Virat twice in the IPL, and the RCB star has scored 70 off 58 balls against him.
2. Faf du Plessis vs Mohit Sharma
Faf du Plessis is another key batter for RCB at the top who can take the game away on his own. He will look to take his team to another victory. However, he will be against veteran pacer Mohit Sharma. Mohit had a horrible last match, but he is experienced enough to bounce back from that position. He has dismissed Du Plessis twice in ODIs. In the IPL, he has bowled ten balls to him and dismissed him once for giving away 14 runs.
3. Shubman Gill vs Karn Sharma
Shubman Gill will be another key player in the game, and his numbers in Ahmedabad are brilliant. He has also done well against all the RCB bowlers. But Karn Sharma will be the one who can challenge him in the middle. The leg-spinner has already dismissed him once in just four balls in the IPL and will look to trouble him again.
4. David Miller vs Mohammed Siraj
David Miller struck a brilliant fifty in GT’s last game and almost pulled off a stunning chase. He looked in good touch and will be a big wicket in the upcoming GT vs RCB clash. However, Mohammed Siraj will also be up for a challenge. The Indian pacer has troubled him in the IPL. He has dismissed Miller twice in six deliveries in the IPL and given away only three runs.
5. Rajat Patidar vs Sandeep Warrier
Rajat Patidar has registered two blistering fifties in the last two matches for RCB. He will look to do the same in the coming game, which can put his team at the top. However, it might be difficult against Sandeep Warrier, who likes to take on the pace, and his slower ones grip the surface pretty well. This battle looks underrated, but can affect the game big-time.
