Match No. 28 of the IPL 2024 will be a KKR vs LSG clash to take place at Eden Gardens on Sunday.

Match No. 28 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will be played between two teams that are sitting in the top four of the points table. This clash will see the two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This game will be an afternoon match on Sunday.

KKR are currently positioned second on the points table but lost their last game against CSK. LSG, on the other hand, are fourth on the table with six points and are coming off a defeat against DC. So a win here will be very important for confidence because either of these teams won’t like to lose consecutive games.

KKR vs LSG: Head-to-Head

Previously, these two teams have faced each other three times in the IPL. But there is nothing encouraging for KKR because they have lost all three games. They will be under pressure to register their first win against LSG.

KKR vs LSG: Top five player battles to watch

1. Quinton de Kock vs Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc was signed for a whopping price of INR 24.75 crores by KKR, but he hasn’t delivered a good performance yet and has gone for runs. But you never know with him. The kind of player he is, he can demolish any batting unit. Well, he will be up against Quinton de Kock in the powerplay and has done well against him. Starc has dismissed de Kock six times in international cricket. In the IPL, Starc has bowled ten balls to him and dismissed him once.

2. Nicholas Pooran vs Sunil Narine

We all know what Nicholas Pooran can do with a bat in hand. He has been doing it in the last year or so, and he will be a dangerous batter in the middle overs. But KKR have someone like Sunil Narine, who has good numbers against him. Pooran has a career strike rate of 158 in the IPL, but against Narine, he has a strike rate of 112.8 and scored 141 runs off 125 balls. The KKR spinner has dismissed him twice as well.

3. KL Rahul vs Varun Chakravarthy

KL Rahul plays spin very well, but as seen in some games, he has gotten out to spinners after getting set. So Varun Chakravarthy can be very effective against him. The LSG skipper doesn’t have good numbers against Varun. He has scored only 43 runs from 44 balls at a strike rate of 97.7, and Varun has dismissed him once in this battle.

4. Andre Russell vs Naveen-ul-Haq

Andre Russell will be a massive wicket because he can make a difference of 20–30 runs that KKR can get extra in the final overs. So LSG need someone who has bowled well against Russell. Well, LSG are using Naveen-ul-Haq in the final overs, and he is doing well for them. Against Russell, he has bowled 33 balls and given away 41 runs at a strike rate of 124.2, and most importantly, he has dismissed him twice.

5. Sunil Narine vs Krunal Pandya

Sunil Narine will be the man that KKR wishes to fire if he starts connecting the ball. He has scored the most runs for KKR this season, and his strike is always up, which makes him a difficult player. He is very aggressive against pace bowling, which is why teams try to bowl slow bowlers against him. LSG can also try Krunal Pandya, who bowls at stumps and doesn’t give much room. Krunal has dismissed him once in the IPL already, and he can bowl at him.
