Top five player battles to watch out for in KKR vs RR match No. 31 in IPL 2024

This match will decide which team will stay at the top of the table. Both teams have played brilliantly so far. A win in this game will help RR reach close to a place in the playoffs. Meanwhile, KKR can go up to ten points with this win. Both teams won their last games and are in good form.

1. Jos Buttler vs Mitchell Starc

Jos Buttler is likely to be back for Rajasthan Royals after missing the last game. The English opener has been in good form and scored a match-winning century a couple games ago against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. We all know how dangerous he can be. But KKR will hope that Mitchell Starc can do well with the new ball. Starc has dismissed Buttler 5 times in international cricket, but this will be the first time these two players will come up against each other in the IPL.

2. Sanju Samson vs Sunil Narine

The RR captain, Sanju Samson, has been in red-hot form this season. He is scoring runs for his team in crucial situations, which has helped his team pretty well. He has scored 264 runs at a strike rate of 155.29, but his strike rate against Sunil Narine is almost half. So it will be a battle to watch out for. Both Nairne and Samson are in good form, and whoever wins the day will benefit the respective teams. Narine has dismissed Samson three times in the IPL, and Samson has scored only 66 runs off 82 balls at a strike rate of 80.5.

3. Sunil Narine vs Trent Boult

Sunil Narine’s role with the ball will be very important in the coming KKR vs RR clash, but his role with the bat can change the game. The left-hander has played a few impactful innings at the top, and he will look to do it again against RR. But he will be up against the swing king, Trent Boult, who has been exceptional with the new ball. He will feel confident and will look to take on RR in the coming game in case of a few early wickets. But he will be against the spin master Yuzi Chahal, who has the Purple Cap with him and 11 wickets. Iyer has found it tough against Chahal. He has scored 87 off 64 balls and gotten out once.

5. Riyan Parag vs Varun Chakravarthy

Riyan Parag has been brilliant for RR this season and is the second-highest scorer of the IPL 2024. He will be very eager to score runs after missing out in the last two matches. Parag has scored 284 runs with three half-centuries. But it won’t be that easy because he will be facing the mystery spin of Varun Chakravarthy, who has controlled the rate in middle overs. With his various tricks, Varun can be pretty effective, and the pitch at Eden Gardens will also help him.
