Top five player battles to watch out for in LKN vs DC match No. 26 in IPL 2024
Match No. 26 of the IPL 2024, LKN vs DC, will be played in Lucknow.
The upcoming clash of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will see a face-off between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC). This game will be held at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium in Lucknow at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening.
Both teams are on the opposite sides of the table. LSG are currently third on the table with six points, and they can move to the top with this win. Meanwhile, DC, who are struggling at the bottom, will be pushed even further down in the race if they lose this.
LSG vs DC: Head-to-Head
The upcoming match will be the fourth IPL encounter between Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals. DC are yet to register a win as LSG have won all three games between both of the sides.
LSG vs DC: Top five player battles to watch
1. KL Rahul vs Axar Patel
KL Rahul has been pretty effective in the IPL 2024 so far with his form and captaincy. He will be looking to take his team to victory and move to the top of the table. However, he has not had great numbers against Axar Patel in the IPL. The LSG skipper has faced 34 balls from Axar and scored only 22 runs at a strike rate of 64.7, while the spinner has dismissed him twice.
2. Quinton de Kock vs Anrich Nortje
The LSG vs DC will also see a South African battle in the game. Quinton de Kock will be up against Anrich Nortje. These two have played with each other a lot and know about the strengths and weaknesses of each other. Well, even in the IPL, they have played against each other. De Kock has scored 67 runs off 44 balls off Nortje at a strike rate of 152.3, but the pacer has dismissed him three times already. Notably, Nortje dismissed De Kock in the last two IPL games.
3. Nicholas Pooran vs Kuldeep Yadav
Nicholas Pooran will be a massive wicket in the game. The way he is batting at the moment, it looks impossible to stop him. The Southpaw has been scoring runs at a rapid pace, and DC need to find someone to stop him. And they have Kuldeep Yadav to do so. Well, the spinner missed a few games due to a niggle but is likely to return on Friday. He has dismissed Pooran 6 times in international cricket and will be a threat to him this time around as well.
4. David Warner vs Ravi Bishnoi
David Warner has looked rusty in the last few matches, but he is definitely a match-winner and will be a key wicket at the top. However, he has scored some runs in the IPL 2024 and will feel confident about doing well in the coming game. However, he will think of one LSG bowler who has gotten the better of him in the IPL. Ravi Bishnoi has dismissed Warner three times in 16 balls in the IPL and has given only 11 runs. This will be a battle to watch out for.
5. Rishabh Pant vs Krunal Pandya
Krunal Pandya bowled an exceptional spell of 3/11 in the last game against GT and helped his team defend a low total. He will be bowling in the middle overs when DC skipper Rishabh Pant bats. Pant has been in good form and likes to take on the bowlers. He also has good numbers against Krunal. Pant has scored 70 off 38 balls off him at a strike rate of 184.2, but Krunal has dismissed him three times already.
