Top five player battles to watch out for in LKN vs GT match No. 21 in IPL 2024
LKN vs GT will be match No. 21 of the IPL 2024 which will be played on Sunday in Lucknow.
The third Sunday of the IPL 2024 will bring two important matches in the tournament. The evening clash will bring Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT) against each other at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. This game will give two important points, as both teams have four each at the moment.
LSG are coming off two consecutive wins and will be high on confidence to make a hat-trick of wins. And this is a home game for them. Meanwhile, GT have struggled and have had two wins and two defeats so far. Their NRR is not good either, so they need to work in some areas.
LSG vs GT: Head-to-Head:
The h2h record between these two teams is largely in favour of Gujarat Titans. There have been four matches so far against these teams, and GT have won all of them. So can LSG open their account against GT on Sunday?
LSG vs GT: Top five player battles to watch
1. Quinton de Kock vs Umesh Yadav
Quinton de Kock has been scoring runs consistently for LSG in the IPL 2024, and he will be a big wicket in the LSG vs GT game on Sunday. However, he will be up against veteran Indian pacer Umesh Yadav, who relies heavily on his swing. Umesh has dismissed De Kock twice at the international level. In the IPL, he has dismissed him once and conceded 67 runs off 48 balls.
2. KL Rahul vs Mohit Sharma
The LSG skipper, KL Rahul, has gotten some starts in the IPL 2024 but hasn’t converted those into some big ones. But he will look to do well in the coming LSG vs GT clash and do well for the team. However, he will have to face the current Orange Cap holder, Mohit Sharma, who has gotten the better of him in the IPL. Mohit has dismissed Rahul three times in the IPL, and the batter has only scored 42 off 35 balls at a SR of 120.
3. Nicholas Pooran vs Rashid Khan
Nicholas Pooran has played an important role in LSG’s two wins this season. If he gets going, it will be impossible to stop him, and he scores at a rapid pace. But GT has their trump card, Rashid Khan, who has incredible numbers against the Southpaw. Rashid has dismissed him twice in the T20s and given away only 27 runs off 43 balls, at a strike rate of 62.8.
4. Shubman Gill vs Naveen-ul-Haq
GT skipper Shubman Gill has been in great form in the IPL 2024 and has scored the most runs for his team. However, if LSG can get him out early, that will be better because if he plays 15-20 balls, it will be hard to get him out. That is when Naveen-ul-Haq will be a good bowler. The Afghan pacer will get the swing and different kinds of slower ones, which makes him a difficult bowler to face. These two have faced each other off 28 balls, and Gill has scored 48 runs.
5. Sai Sudharsan vs Mayank Yadav
Sai Sudharsan has gotten runs in almost every game this season and has played some good innings for his team. His consistency will be one thing that might help GT get an edge over LSG. But he will be against Mayank Yadav, who is coming off two MOTM performances in his first two IPL games. Mayank bowls over 150 KMPH and he will be a very tricky bowler to handle.
