Top five player battles to watch out for in MI vs SRH match No. 55 in IPL 2024
Match No. 55 of the IPL 2024 will be a MI vs SRH clash on Monday at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
The next match in the rivalry week of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will be played between two former champions. The 55th game of the season will see the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) take on the 2016 winners Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Monday.
SRH are among the front-runners for a place in the playoffs. A win here can help them take a step closer to a place in the next round. They already defeated MI once this season. MI are almost out of the race for playoffs, and they can only look to win this game for their fans.
MI vs SRH: Head-to-Head
MI are ahead in this H2H competition as they have won 12 out of 22 games played between the two teams. SRH have won 10 games including one earlier this season.
MI vs SRH: Top five player battles to watch out for
1. Travis Head vs Jasprit Bumrah
No one from MI wants Travis Head to get going because they have seen what he can, when they met in the last game. But Head will look to make sure that he plays another important innings for SRH. He has been at his best, and Jasprit Bumrah is MI’s best bowler. These two will certainly produce a great match-up in the game. Bumrah has dismissed Head thrice in international cricket.
2. Abhishek Sharma vs Nuwan Thushara
Abhishek Sharma smashed a 15-ball fifty last time when he batted against MI and the way he is batting, he can do it once again. But he will have to face Nuwan Thushara, who is in good form. He is bowling quick yorkers. He demolished KKR’s top order in Mi’s last game. So it will be a good battle in the game.
3. Heinrich Klaasen vs Gerald Coetzee
The coming MI vs SRH will also see a South African battle. It will be Heinrich Klaasen against Gerald Coetzee in this game. Both like to get ahead of the game and take on the opposition. Klaasen is a silent killer, and Coetzee is always in the face. Coetzee has bowled 13 balls to Klaasen and dismissed him once already by conceding 19 runs.
4. Rohit Sharma vs Pat Cummins
Rohit Sharma has been going through a tough patch in the last few games. But it looks like he won’t get an easy game because he will be up against Pat Cummins, who has dismissed him seven times at international level. In the IPL, Cummins has dismissed Rohit twice in just 23 balls. Rohit has scored 31 runs in this battle.
5. Suryakumar Yadav vs T. Natarajan
Suryakumar Yadav has been in great form for MI, and he even scored a fighting fifty in the last game. He can thrash SRH’s bowling plans for sure. But it won’t be easy to score against the in-form T. Natarajan. The left-arm pacer will be eyeing to bowl yorkers and wouldn’t allow Suryakumar to get going. It will be an important battle for the match.
