Match No. 23 of the IPL 2024 will be a PBKS vs SRH contest to take place on Tuesday in Mohali.

It is time for another exciting clash in the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Two teams have shown some good batting performances in the IPL 2024. Punjab Kings (PBKS) will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Tuesday (April 9) in Mohali.

SRH have posted the highest IPL total this season, while PBKS have won two games, including the highest chase of the IPL 2024. So which team will cross the line in this game? SRH look good with the bowling unit they have, but PBKS also have some match-winners in the bowling department.

PBKS vs SRH: Head-to-Head

There have been 21 matches so far between these two teams in the IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad have recorded wins in 14 games as compared to 7 wins for Punjab Kings. SRH have won three out of the last five games between the two.

PBKS vs SRH: Top five player battles to watch

1. Travis Head vs Kagiso Rabada

Travis Head can be a destructive batter when he is on song, which he showed with an 18-ball fifty on his debut game for SRH. He can single-handedly take his team to victory, and until he is on the crease, Punjab Kings can’t take a sigh of relief. But they have someone who has gotten the better of him many times. We are talking about Kagiso Rabada. The pacer has dismissed Head five times in international cricket, and this will be the first time these two will face each other in the IPL.

2. Abhishek Sharma vs Arshdeep Singh

Two youngsters who play with each other for Punjab in the Indian domestic circuit, will be up against each other on Tuesday. That will be an interesting battle between Abhishek Sharma and Arshdeep Singh. Abhishek has been unstoppable in the tournament so far and has scored 161 runs at a strike rate of 217.56. Arshdeep knows him very well and will have plans to restrict him at the top. Abhishek has scored 28 off 18 balls from Arshdeep in the IPL so far.

3. Heinrich Klaasen vs Sam Curran

One SRH batter who needs to be stopped, or else he will take the game away from PBKS is Heinrich Klaasen. The South African star is in the form of his life. He is not just scoring runs, but scoring them at a rapid pace. He has scored 117 runs at an incredible strike rate of 203.44. Hence, Sam Curran can be a wise option against him. He bowls wide yorkers, and his change-ups can be very effective against Klaasen. This will certainly be a big battle in this match.

4. Shikhar Dhawan vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar

The PBKS skipper, Shikhar Dhawan, is a slow starter, but once he gets set, he is a very dangerous batter. So it is important to dismiss him early, and that’s why Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be very important. These two veteran Indian players will be very important for their teams. Bhuvi has dismissed Dhawan twice in the IPL, and the batter has scored 78 runs off 74 balls at a strike rate of 105.4 for him.

5. Jonny Bairstow vs Pat Cummins

Whether it is the Ashes, ODIs, T20Is, or IPL, Jonny Bairstow and Pat Cummins have crossed paths many times. These two will once again face each other on Tuesday. Bairstow has been pretty good so far and has given his team good starts. But Cummins has bowled well. He has dismissed Bairstow five times in international cricket. In the IPL, he has dismissed Bairstow twice and given away only 16 runs from 25 balls.
