Top five player battles to watch out for in RR vs GT match No. 24 in IPL 2024

Match No. 24 of the IPL 2024 will be a RR vs GT contest which will take place on Tuesday in Jaipur.

Match No. 24 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will be held on April 10 (Wednesday) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. This will be a game between the two finalists of the 2022 edition. Rajasthan Royals (RR) will take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in this exciting clash in week 3 of the tournament.

Both teams have had contrasting performances so far. GT, who are coming off two consecutive defeats, are in the bottom half of the table with three defeats in four games. On the other hand, RR have been the best team until now, as they have won four games on the trot and are looking to make it five in a row.

These two teams have played five matches in total in the IPL. Rajasthan Royals won the last game between the two, while Gujarat Titans won the first four, which also included the final of the 2022 season.

1. Jos Buttler vs Umesh Yadav

Jos Buttler is coming off an unbeaten century in the last game against RCB, and he is truly back in form. He will be a big wicket in this clash, and if GT want to put RR under pressure, they need to dismiss him early on. Hence, Umesh Yadav can be a good bowler against him. He bowls at a good pace and swings the ball, and he has dismissed Buttler twice in international cricket. Buttler has scored 54 off 37 balls from Umesh in the IPL.

2. Trent Boult vs Shubman Gill

One of the most important battles in the game will be between Trent Boult and GT skipper Shubman Gill. Both are in form this season and have done well for their teams. Boult has been providing early wickets to RR, and Gill is providing good starts to GT. However, Gill hasn’t had great numbers against Boult. He has scored only 57 runs off him in 55 balls at a strike rate of 103.6, and Boult has dismissed him once in the IPL.

3. Sanju Samson vs Rashid Khan

In the last game played between the two teams, RR captain Sanju Samson took on Rashid Khan in a chase and helped his team win the game. This will be an exciting battle once again. Samson has been superb so far in the IPL 2024 and played an important knock against RCB. Rashid has looked rusty after an injury, but you never know. He will be a very hard bowler to get away from. 5. Kane Williamson vs Yuzvendra Chahal

Kane Williamson will be a key batter for GT with the experience he brings to the game. But he will be up against Yuzvendra Chahal, who has gotten the better of him many times. Whether it is ODIs, T20Is, or IPLs, Chahal has dismissed the Kiwi captain. He has dismissed Williamson 6 times in international cricket. In the IPL, Chahal has dismissed him once but given away nothing. Williamson has scored 54 runs off 54 balls at a strike rate of 100.
