Match No. 65 of the IPL 2024 will host a RR vs PBKS clash on Tuesday in Guwahati.

The ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is just a few games away from the start of the playoffs. Every match from here on is a virtual knockout game. The upcoming clash is also important. Rajasthan Royals (RR) will lock horns with Punjab Kings (PBKS).

This match will take place at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati, on Wednesday. RR have 16 points on the board, and they need a win here, which can help them have a top-two finish in the league stage. Meanwhile, PBKS have already been knocked out, and they can only look to end the tournament on a winning note.

RR vs PBKS: Head-to-Head

RR have a great track record against PBKS in the IPL. They have won 16 out of 27 matches between the two sides. PBKS have ended up winning 11 so far.

RR vs PBKS: Top five player battles to watch out for

1. Sanju Samson vs Sam Curran

Sanju Samson will have a big responsibility on his shoulders to win it for his team to take them into the next round. He will be a big wicket in the game, and his good form will be a threat for PBKS. However, his numbers against Sam Curran are average. Curran has bowled 15 balls against him and conceded 20 runs while he has dismissed Samson twice already.

2. Riyan Parag vs Kagiso Rabada

Riyan Parag is another RR batter who has been in red-hot form this season. He is among the top scorers in the tournament, having scored 483 runs. Parag even scored the most runs in the last game, when the conditions were tough in Chennai. Meanwhile, with Liam Livingstone not available, PBKS might see Kagiso Rabada come back to the playing XI. He has done well against Riyan. The South African pacer has dismissed him twice in 18 balls and given away only 19 runs in the IPL.

3. Jonny Bairstow vs Trent Boult

Jonny Bairstow is one of the leading scorers for Punjab Kings this season. He is a dangerous batter when he gets going because he can score runs at a good pace. The English opener will feature in the coming game, but he will be facing Trent Boult, who has troubled him a lot of times. Boult has dismissed Bairstow 11 times in international cricket and once in the IPL. So it will be a good battle to watch.

4. Yashasvi Jaiswal vs Arshdeep Singh

With Jos Buttler not playing, Yashasvi Jaiswal will look to take on more responsibilities in the game. His runs will be crucial at the top, as RR are already struggling in the last few matches. However, Jaiswal has done well this season, but sometimes he is unable to convert his starts into big innings. For him, Arshdeep Singh will be a big headache. The left-arm pacer has dismissed Jaiswal twice in just 20 balls in the IPL while conceding only 26 runs.

5. Rilee Rossouw vs Ravi Ashwin

Rilee Rossouw will be another big wicket in the game. The left-hander scored a quick half-century against RCB in the last match and has looked good. He is an aggressive player and likes to take on the bowlers. PBKS will hope that he can do well in the middle overs. But can he take on Ravi Ashwin? Well, the veteran off-spinner has one of the best records when it comes to bowling to left-handers. He is a very smart bowler and has already dismissed Rossouw once in six balls in the IPL.
