Match No. 18 of the IPL 2024 will have a SRH vs CHE clash on Friday in Hyderabad.

The upcoming clash of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). This match will be held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on April 5. Both teams are coming off defeats in their last games.

SRH lost to GT, while CSK lost to DC. However, CSK won the two matches before that and are at third place on the table. But SRH are in the second half of the table with only two points. But they had a historic match when they played at home last time. So they will look to repeat it on Friday.

SRH vs CSK: Head-to-Head

These two teams have played 19 matches in the IPL so far. CSK have a dominating record with 14 wins, while SRH have won five games. SRH have only won one game in the last three seasons against CSK.

SRH vs CSK: Top five player battles to watch

1. Travis Head vs Deepak Chahar

We all know what Travis Head can do if he gets going, and he will only be playing in one way, which is to go after bowling from the start. CSK will have to find a way to stop him because he can be very dangerous. However, Deepak Chahar can be a handy bowler against him. He likes bowling against left-handers and takes the bowl in and away. They have not faced each other much, so this will be a good battle in the powerplay.

2. Abhishek Sharma vs Ravindra Jadeja

Abhishek Sharma has been in superb form for SRH with the bat. He is not letting the run rate get down and striking the ball nicely from the start. The southpaw registered a 16-ball fifty in the last match in Hyderabad, and MSD will surely have a plan for him. He is good against spinners, but it will be difficult to hit Ravindra Jadeja because he doesn’t give much air to the bowl. He has bowled 27 balls at Abhishek, given away only 35 runs, and dismissed him once.

3. Heinrich Klaasen vs Matheesha Pathirana

The biggest wicket for CSK will be Heinrich Klaasen because, in the form he is in, he can win games single-handedly. Klaasen is hitting spinners pretty well, so you need someone special to stop him. And Matheesha Pathirana is someone who can be pretty good against him. These two will be up against in the middle and final overs. Pathirana dismissed Klaasen last time when they met in the IPL in just four balls.

4. Rachin Ravindra vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Rachin Ravindra missed in the last game and got out early, but before that, he played two brilliant innings at the top. He will be looking to do the same on Friday, but he will be up against veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has picked up the most wickets in powerplay by an Indian bowler in the IPL history. Bhuvi relies on his swing and line, and it will be tough to line him up. Hence, whoever wins this battle will give his team a good start.

5. Shivam Dube vs Pat Cummins

Shivam Dube is another in-form batter for CSK who has been scoring runs at a good pace in the middle overs. He is destructive against spinners, which is why teams prefer pace against him. And Pat Cummins certainly has a brilliant brain on his shoulders. He will be the one who will like to bowl to the left-hander and do tricks with the ball. And this will be an important battle for the game.
