Top five player battles to watch out for in SRH vs GT match No. 66 in IPL 2024

Match No. 66 of the IPL 2024 will see a SRH vs GT clash on Thursday in Hyderabad.

The ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is just five matches away from the start of the playoffs, and still two places are open to grab. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are one of the teams fighting for a place, and they need to win one of the two matches left.

They will be taking on Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 16 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. GT are out of the competition, but they can spoil SRH’s party with a win here, which can put SRH in a must-win situation in their last league game. So they will come hard because SRH are a very difficult team to face.

SRH vs GT: Head-to-Head

Gujarat Titans won their last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier this season. Overall, GT have won three out of four games between the two while SRH have one win.

SRH vs GT: Top five player battles to watch out for

1. Travis Head vs Rashid Khan

Travis Head is in blistering form, and his starts have always given SRH a push to reach big totals in the ongoing tournament. He will be up for another big one in the coming game. He likes playing in Hyderabad and is coming off a great game. But can he do it against Rashid Khan? That will be a nice battle to watch out for. Both like to take on their opponents. Rashid has dismissed Head once in the IPL in 12 balls, while Head has scored 17 runs off him.

2. Abhishek Sharma vs Mohit Sharma

Abhishek Sharma is also matching Travis Head with aggressive approach and has outplayed him in some innings. He, along with Head, make an unstoppable pair at the top, which has been the key to SRH’s success this season. If Abhishek gets going, he can take on any bowling attack. However, Mohit Sharma has had some success against him. He has dismissed the southpaw once in 8 balls this season and only conceded five runs.

3. Shubman Gill vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Shubman Gill has been in great form, and he struck a 50-ball ton in the game against CSK. With not much left to lose, Gill is expected to play aggressively and try to continue the way he batted against Chennai. That can make a good case for him getting another big score. But SRH have some really good bowlers. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one of them. Bhuvi has troubled Gill many times. He has dismissed the GT skipper three times in 56 balls, while Gill has only scored 57 runs off him at a strike rate of 101.8 with 28 dot balls.

4. Sai Sudharsan vs T. Natarajan

The upcoming SRH vs GT clash will see two teammates of Chennai state team up against each other. It will be Sai Sudharsan against T. Natarajan, and both have done a great job this season for their respective teams. Sudharsan has scored the most runs for GT, and Natarajan has picked up wickets consistently. In the IPL, Natarajan has dismissed Sai Sudharsan once in 7 balls already.

5. David Miller vs Pat Cummins

One great battle will be between two international superstars as well. David Miller will be a key batter for GT, as he can add some extra runs in the final overs that can make a difference in the end. But he will be facing SRH captain Pat Cummins, who has bowled against him many times. Cummins has dismissed Miller five times in international cricket. In the IPL, he has not dismissed Miller yet but has only conceded 25 runs off 26 balls, with a strike rate of 96.2.
