Shocking! Star player’s bodyguard drops F-bomb at media as ENG vs IND ODIs gets marred by controversy

A bodyguard of an Indian player abused a journalist in England during the ongoing ENG vs IND ODI series.
Indian Cricket Team are touring England for a white-ball series currently, which is set to witness two more ODI games. The Men in Blue suffered a big debacle in the five-match T20I series, bagging a 4-0 whitewash.
The Men-in-Blue made a big comeback in the 1st ENG vs IND ODI at Edgbaston, Birmingham, on July 14, by defeating England by six wickets. The Shubman Gill & Co. chased down a 259-run target like a walk in the park by six wickets in 45.2 overs. Axar Patel, who picked a four-fer and scored an unbeaten half-century, was adjudged Player of the Match.
Last year, the England vs India Test series witnessed a few controversies and instances of verbal altercations among players of both sides. In the current tour, no such controversies have taken place so far between players. However, a verbal altercation involving a bodyguard of a star Indian player is doing the rounds of social media.

As per a journalist Abhishek Tripathi of Jagran News, a bodyguard of an Indian player has been misbehaving with the media teams covering the India’s tour of England 2026 in United Kingdom.
According to the report, he also used abusive language with a journalist after the 1st ODI. The report added that this bodyguard was not present during the T20I series against England.
While more information about this bodyguard is not available at the moment, his photo is going viral on social media.
“A bodyguard of a player from the Indian ODI team has been continuously misbehaving with the media present at the venue. This bodyguard was not with the T20I squad,” a tweet by Tripathi on X read.
“The same individual, who has previously behaved rudely with the media, again abused a journalist who was standing in the designated media area, repeatedly saying “Fk off, fk off” at the media manager’s instruction. By that time, the player he was guarding had already boarded the team bus,” the post further added.
Meanwhile, India and England are set to clash in the second ODI at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on July 16. Trailing 1-0, Harry Brook & Co. have to win the clash at any cost to avoid a series defeat. The campaign will conclude with the third game at The Lord’s.
