Anwar Ali initially began his career as a right back and played at Rurka Kalan Academy in Jalandhar. He was an ever-present character for Delhi Dynamos in the inaugural edition of the Hero ISL but featured just three times in 2015. After a stint with ATK in the 2017-18 campaign, he is back with Mumbai City FC, a side he helped qualify for the playoffs in 2016.
