The ZIM vs IND T20I series will feature three matches.
India are set to clash with Zimbabwe in a T20I series later this month. Shreyas Iyer & Co. will tour Zimbabwe for three T20I matches, scheduled to be played from July 23 to 26 at Harare Sports Club, Harare.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the squad for the Zimbabwe tour, which is short of a few prominent players. After a series defeat against Ireland last month, the Governing body has named a few uncapped and inexperienced players in India’s squad.
This series will also help some players secure their place in the national team. On that note, let’s take a glance at the three Indian players who have received their maiden call-up in the ZIM vs IND T20I series.

3. Prabhsimran Singh
Wicket-keeper batsman Prabhsimran Singh has impressed with his performances over the last few seasons in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Even before Shreyas Iyer’s arrival as Punjab Kings captain in the 2025 edition, Prabhsimran grabbed the spotlight with his IPL century.
In IPL 2026, the opening batter grabbed the headlines with another brilliant show, smacking 510 runs in 13 innings at an average of 42.50 and a strike rate of 168.87.
With six half-centuries and a highest score of 80*, Prabhsimran was a stand-out batter and top run-getter for his team. Since the ZIM vs IND T20I series will witness three games, he is highly expected to make his international debut.
2. Ashok Sharma
Ashok Sharma is another player who has earned his national call-up in the T20I series against Zimbabwe. The right-arm pacer represented Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2026 and made a mark with his deadly pace in a few games he played.
With six wickets in an equal number of games, Sharma did a decent job in his maiden season. With his ability to swing the ball both ways and consistent shows in domestic cricket, Ashok has impressed selectors to earn his maiden national call-up.
1. Yash Thakur
Yash Thakur has not played any matches for India so far and has featured in just 22 IPL games. However, the right-arm pacer has been impressive in the tournament since his debut in 2023. He has taken 27 wickets in his debut season for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and earned praise for his performance.
Representing Punjab Kings in IPL 2026, Thakur clinched two wickets in one game. Even though Thakur has limited IPL experience, he has been an outstanding pacer throughout his T20 career. He has taken 110 wickets in 74 matches at an economy rate of 8.17.
