3 players who could replace Harshit Rana in Indian squad if he is ruled out of ENG vs IND ODIs

Harshit Rana reportedly has been ruled out ENG vs IND ODIs due to hamstring injury.

The Indian Cricket Team will be back playing One-Day Internationals as they take on the England Cricket Team in a three-match bilateral series, starting July 14. Currently, the Men in Blue are not in great form as they are coming off back-to-back T20I series losses, first against Ireland and then England.

Questions have been raised about the management and the players, but as the format changes, we may see a more controlled approach from the team. The last ODI series India played was against Afghanistan at home, where they registered a 3–0 win to begin their preparations for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2027. This series also holds huge importance in terms of preparation, as they will face a quality side like England.

However, the team have been struck by some awful news, as one of their pacers, Harshit Rana, sustained an injury while playing in the T20I series and may miss the three-match ODI series against England. The right-arm pacer was out of cricket action for months due to a prolonged knee injury, and now he has suffered a hamstring injury, raising questions about his fitness.

The team selectors and management will be looking to call up a player who can replace Harshit Rana in the Indian ODI team. On that note, let’s have a look at the three possible players who can replace Harshit Rana in the Indian ODI team.

3 pacers who could be in contention to replace Harshit Rana in India’s ODI Squad for England series

1. Mohammad Siraj

Mohammad Siraj may find his way back into the ODI squad of the India. The right-arm pacer is one of the most reliable bowlers for India in Test cricket and has shown his potential in white-ball cricket as well, but he has often been left out of the team in favour of other pacers. With Harshit Rana getting injured and likely to be ruled out of the series, we may see Siraj back in action in white-ball cricket.

2. Prince Yadav

Another player who could force his way into the ODI squad of the Indian team against England is Prince Yadav. After a wonderful IPL season, Prince was called up for the ODI series against Afghanistan, where he made his debut and had a decent outing.

After that, Prince also made his T20I debut against Ireland and later played in the T20I series against England. He was left out of the ODI series against England as the senior players returned to the squad, but with Harshit Rana getting injured and likely to be ruled out of the series, the selectors may call up Prince Yadav for another series in England.

3. Mohsin Khan

Mohsin Khan had an impressive IPL season, where he took 11 wickets in just seven matches at an economy rate of 8.14. The 22-year-old brings the option of left-arm pace bowling and could prove to be a reliable bowler in the powerplay when the ball swings in English conditions.

Mohsin has a history of battling injuries, which has often derailed his career. However, now that Harshit Rana may not be able to play the ODI series against England, the selectors could look to call up Mohsin for his debut series.

Why may Harshit Rana be ruled out of the ODI series against England?
