Building an opening stand of 80 runs in just five overs, openers Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a blistering start to RR’s batting. Jaiswal went on to score an unbeaten 77 runs, taking the scoreboard to a mammoth 150/3 in 11 overs.
In the chase, the Mumbai Indians lost the plot at the start itself, losing top 3 batters Ryan Rickelton, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav for single digits. Amid the pressure, they failed to showcase teamwork in batting. They lost five batters within the first five overs. Eventually, MI could only reach 123/9 in 11 overs, losing the clash by 27 runs.
