Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) clashed in match 30 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Monday, April 20. After four back-to-back losses, MI made a strong comeback as they crushed GT by 99 runs in the encounter, which took place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
After being asked to bat first, MI had a poor start as they lost both openers Quinton de Kock (13) and Danish Malewar (2) cheaply. However, Tilak Varma hammered a fabulous century, smacking an unbeaten 101 runs off 45 deliveries.
After MI lost crucial batters at the start, he held the fort in middle overs and took the team to a gigantic total of 199/5.
Losing Sai Sudharsan for a golden duck on the first delivery of chase, GT suffered a big blow at the start of the chase. Key batters like Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler, Washington Sundar, and Glenn Phillips also lost their wickets cheaply as none of the GT batters could cross 30-run mark. They were bowled out for just 100 runs, suffering a huge defeat by 99 runs.
Pacer Ashwani Kumar was the pick of the bowlers for MI with four-wicket haul, while Allah Ghazanfar and Mitchell Santner clinched two scalps each.
