IPL 2026 Points Table, Orange Cap & Purple Cap after match 47, MI vs LSG

Punjab Kings are at the top of the points table after the 47th match of IPL 2026.

Mumbai Indians (MI) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) locked horns in match 47 of the Indian Premier League 2026 on Monday, May 4, at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. MI won the encounter by six wickets after chasing down a mountainous 229-run target.

In the absence of regular skipper Hardik Pandya, stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to field first. Mumbai Indians bowlers struggled to execute decent teamwork once again, as LSG batters hit them all over the park.

Opener Mitchell Marsh scored 44 runs, while Nicholas Pooran (63) hit a half-century. Towards the end, Aiden Markram (31*) and Himmat Singh (40*) helped LSG to reach a mammoth total with their unbeaten knocks.

However, their batting efforts went in vain with a marvellous start by MI openers Ryan Rickelton (83) and Rohit Sharma (84) in the chase.

Both of them hammered half-centuries to set up a magnificent opening stand of 143 runs in 10.5 overs. Naman Dhir scored an unbeaten 23 to guide Mumbai to a six-wicket win in just 18.4 overs.
