RCB take the top spot in the points table after the 58th match of IPL 2026.

Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six wickets in the 58th match of the Indian Premier League 2026 on May 14. The encounter took place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

After being asked to bat first, the Punjab Kings piled up 200/8. Prabhsimran Singh (57) gave a brilliant start. However, PBKS suffered a mini-batting collapse in the middle overs, losing key batters like Shreyas Iyer, Suryash Shedge, and Shashank Singh for single digits.

They struggled at 140/7 at one stage, but Azmatullah Omarzai added a crucial 38 runs towards the end to take the scoreboard to a respectable total.

Mumbai Indians openers Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma gave a brilliant start to the batting, adding 59 runs in the powerplay. Tilak Varma (75*) hammered a match-winning half-century.

He remained unbeaten till the end and built a match-winning partnership of 56 runs with Will Jacks (25*). Mumbai chased down the target in 19.5 overs, as Punjab suffered their fifth consecutive defeat.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) hold the top two positions in the IPL 2026 points table with 16 points each. SRH are next with 14 points, while Punjab Kings remain in the fourth position with 13 points.
