West Indies Women beat the current champion, New Zealand Women by 7 wickets in match 4 of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Day 2 of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 was an action-packed day. Three competitive matches were scheduled, and it was non-action for the fans. Match 2 was played between Scotland Women and Ireland Women in Manchester.

Captain Kathryn Bryce led Scotland to a 40-run win with her 60 off 39 balls. Kirstie Gordon (3/16) and Katherine Fraser (3/19) also played key roles in the win. In the second game of the day, the six-time champion, Australia Women, thrashed South Africa Women by 65 runs in Manchester.

Australia had a tough start as their openers scored a total of seven runs. But Phoebe Litchfield (50 off 24) and Ellyse Perry (36 off 26) added a good partnership. There were a few good cameos, which took them to 172/8.

In reply, captain Laura Wolvaardt was the only batter who looked in control. She scored 44 off 39, and South Africa were bowled out for just 107 runs. In the final game of the day, fans witnessed a nail-biter between New Zealand Women and West Indies Women in Southampton.

Batting first, New Zealand scored 162/6 with Brooke Halliday (40) and Isabella Gaze (39) making key contributions. Aaliyah Alleyne took 4/27 for West Indies. With the bat, captain Hayley Matthews scored 48 off 37.

But the star of the match was Shemaine Campbelle, who scored an unbeaten 90 off 62 and took her team over the line. This was her maiden T20I fifty in 123 innings, and it came at the right time.

Group A

The game between Australia Women and South Africa Women was played in Group A. Australia won the game and jumped to the top of the table with two points. South Africa slipped to the bottom after the defeat. All other four teams have not played a game yet.
