Punjab Kings’ Prabhsimran Singh smashed 25 off 17 during his stay at wicket.

After securing their first victory against DC, Punjab Kings (PBKS) faced Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their second game of the season at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. After being sent to bat first, Punjab found themselves in early trouble after losing Bairstow’s wicket. Prabhsimran Singh then stepped in, showcasing his talent during the seventh over of the match.

Cameron Green delivered a full delivery on the middle stump line, prompting Prabhsimran Singh to execute a flick shot for a six, which also reminded all of us of MS Dhoni’s famous helicopter shot. The precision of the shot left both Green and RCB fans amazed by the young batter’s skill and technique.

Prabhsimran Singh, an important player for PBKS in IPL 2024, showed glimpses of his talent in the previous seasons. Despite scoring 26 runs in the first match against DC, he couldn’t capitalize on his start in the second game against RCB, getting out for 25. However, his innings featured two sixes, one of which resembled Dhoni’s helicopter shot, drawing attention from spectators at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Last Over Blitz Lifts Punjab Kings to 176-Run Total, Falls Short of Expectations

In the last over, PBKS managed to score 20 runs, with Shashank Singh contributing a valuable cameo, helping them reach a total of 176-6 which is likely below par. Earlier in the innings, Mohammed Siraj got an early breakthrough by dismissing Bairstow after he had hit consecutive boundaries. Yash Dayal bowled with precision, maintaining pressure with the new ball. Prabhsimran and Dhawan then built a partnership worth fifty runs at a steady pace before Maxwell dismissed Prabhsimran.

Livingstone, batting at number four, hit a couple of boundaries off Maxwell’s bowling. Alzarri Joseph then bowled a challenging length to dismiss Livingstone, followed by Dhawan falling to Maxwell in the very next over. With Punjab at 98/4 in the 13th over, they had two new batsmen at the crease. Despite a strong partnership between Curran and Jitesh, RCB pulled back things nicely. Siraj delivered an impressive penultimate over, but Alzarri conceded 20 runs in the final over as PBKS reached 176/6.
