Prasidh Krishna ruled out of NZ vs IND ODIs due to injury - Reports
Prasidh Krishna has taken 53 wickets in ODI Cricket.
India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is likely to miss the upcoming five-match ODI series against New Zealand as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury. The series begins on November 4, and his absence could be a major setback for India‘s bowling attack.
Krishna suffered the injury during the second ODI against the West Indies on September 30. He has been recovering at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru since then.
According to a Press Trust of India (PTI) report, a BCCI source said Prasidh is recovering well, but he has not yet received fitness clearance. He is scheduled to undergo match simulation and fitness tests on November 1 and 2.
“Prasidh is recovering well, and he has his match simulation and fitness test lined up at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on November 1 and 2,” the source told PTI.
The 30-year-old was named in India’s ODI squad for the New Zealand series, but his selection for the first three matches was subject to fitness clearance. Team management and selectors want him to regain full fitness before he returns to the field.
Krishna has taken 53 wickets in 30 international innings. His height and ability to bowl hard lengths make him a key player in India’s pace attack.
