Former India bowler Praveen Kumar escapes car accident without injury
The former Indian bowler, Praveen Kumar was along with his son during the accident.
Former Indian pace bowler Praveen Kumar met with a car accident in UP’s Meerut. Praveen Kumar’s son was also there in the car with him when the accident happened. Both of them came out without any injuries. The accident took place when Praveen was driving through the Pandav Nagar area of Meerut where he was coming back after dropping his nephew. A truck came in and rammed into Praveen ’s vehicle which was badly damaged. Later the truck driver was arrested by the local police. Praveen is a resident of the Multan Nagar area in Meerut. Praveen Kumar was driving his Land Rover.
After the accident, Former Indian pacer Praveen Kumar told PTI, “It could have been a lot worse. By the grace of God, we are okay and I am talking to you. I had gone to drop my nephew but a massive truck hit my car from behind around 9:30 PM. Thank God it was a big Car, else there could have been injuries. I initially thought just the bumper would be broken, but the car is badly damaged”. Praveen is grateful as he and his son come out without any injuries. Praveen Kumar is away from the limelight after he announced his retirement from a professional cricket career.
36-year-old pacer Praveen Kumar played his last game for India in 2012. Praveen announced his retirement just a few years ago. He played 6 Tests, 68 ODIs, and 10 T20Is for team India. Praveen has picked up 112 international wickets for team India. He played an important role for India in the 2008 Commonwealth Bank series and picked up 6 wickets in two of the final games played in Sydney and Brisbane. He made his India debut against Pakistan at SMS Stadium in Jaipur in 2007.
