Priyansh Arya smashes 82-ball ton in the first List-A game between India A and Australia A

Priyansh Arya opened innings for India A against Australia A.

India A and Australia A are engaged in the first of the three List-A games, which began on October 1, 2025. The match is being played at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

India A was asked to bat first after Australia A captain Will Sutherland won the toss and chose to bowl first. The Indian team opened with Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, with captain Shreyas Iyer coming in at three.

Notably, the opening duo of Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh had set the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on fire thanks to their brilliant batting for the Punjab Kings (PBKS). Prabhsimran Singh made 549 runs in 17 games with a strike rate of 160.52 and four fifties.

Arya, in his first outing in the IPL, hammered 475 runs in 17 games with a 179.94 strike rate, with the highest score of 103. This century came against the five-time IPL champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Priyansh Arya shines with the bat for India A

Even for India A, Arya and Prabhsimran took on the Australia A bowlers from the start. Prabhsimran Singh made 56 in 53 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. He added 135 runs for the first wicket in 21 overs with Priyansh Arya before falling to Tom Straker.

Meanwhile, Arya continued his demolition job, as he smashed an 82-ball century in Kanpur. Arya smashed 11 fours and five sixes in his attacking innings before falling two balls later after trying to hit Tanveer Sangha down but missing the defender at long range.

After taking a cut shot in the first over of his bat, the 24-year-old continued to attack the bowlers at will, hitting anything wide or overpitched. He pulled Sam Elliot over the deep square-leg boundary with the first six of the match.

After a strong start from Todd Murphy, Arya swiftly took charge and hammered the off-spinner for three boundaries in one over. After reaching his half-century in 60 balls, he quickly increased his pace, reaching his hundred in the following 22 deliveries.

Arya was just included in the squad for the first ODI, and this is his maiden appearance in India A colours. He will be replaced in Kanpur for the next two games by Abhishek Sharma.
