Match No. 27 of PSL 2025 between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi was originally scheduled to be played on May 8.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has rescheduled a Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 match. The Peshwar Zalmi vs Karachi Kings clash was set to be played at Rthe awalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Thursday, May 8. However, the match has now been postponed indefinitely by the PCB in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor by the Indian Armed Forces.
Indian Armed Forces, under the direction of Indian Government, launched Operation Sindoor after midnight on Wednesday, May 7, to attack the terrorist group responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack. The Indian forces launched air strikes in Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) and targeted nine terrorist camps.
This is in response to the Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir valley on April 22. A group of terrorists from Pakistan attacked tourists in an open market in Pahalgam City and killed 26 people. The attack shook the nation, and the Indian Government swung into action to bring justice to the victims.
Karachi Kings vs Peshwar Zalmi match rescheduled due to Operation Sindoor
On Thursday, May 8, PCB announced in an official statement that Peshawar Zalmi vs Karachi Kings match of PSL 2025 has been rescheduled and they will reveal the new date soon. It is the 27th match of the tournament.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board, in consultation with all the stakeholders, has decided to reschedule tonight’s HBL PSL X match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings. The PCB will announce the revised date in due course,” the PCB said in an official statement.
As per reports, the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium has been affected due to a drone attack. A drone reportedly damaged a restaurant nearby to the stadium and injured two civilians while the origin of the drone is still unclear. Moreover, there are also multiple reports that PCB will shift the remaining games of PSL 2025 outside Pakistan due to security issues.
A total of eight games are left in the tournament, including the Thursday clash. Out of these, there are four league stage games and four playoffs matches. The PSL 2025 final is originally scheduled to be played in Lahore on Sunday, May 18. However, reports suggest that PCB might shift the remaining of the tournament to either UAE’s city Dubai or Qatar’s capital Doha.
