According to media reports, the franchise wants to assess their squad and lay the groundwork ahead of IPL 2027. It will be a five-day camp between August 12 and 16. The franchise wants to focus on fitness, conditioning, and skills, especially for the Indian domestic cricketers.
It will allow the head coach Ricky Ponting and the management to work closely with these players and form strategies going forward. Secondly, it will also help the franchise to get an idea of the possible release and retention of the players ahead of the auction.
The camp will play a key role in identifying the core group of players they want to go with. Amidst preparations for the auction, this camp will provide PBKS with valuable insights regarding the list of players they intend to target.
Notably, the IPL 2027 auction is likely to be held in the third week of December 2026. This will be a mini-auction, allowing all teams to make changes to their squads and sign players according to their needs.
