Mumbai Indians (MI) are clashing with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 47th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The encounter got underway on May 4 (Monday) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Hardik Pandya is missing the encounter due to illness and Suryakumar Yadav is captaining the side in his absence. Notably, right-arm spinner Raghu Sharma was picked in the playing XI in the clash. He also played in the previous game against CSK but went wicketless while leaking 24 runs.
Despite Mumbai’s loss to CSK, they retained Raghu for the clash against LSG. He clinched his first-ever wicket in the tournament by dismissing Akshat Raghuvanshi. The LSG batter was caught and bowled by Raghu in the 13th over. After the dismissal, the MI spinner celebrated his wicket by showing a message written on a paper note, which he hid in his pocket.
His gesture caught the attention of spectators as well as MI captain Suryakumar Yadav, who was curious to know what was written on the paper. He also tried to sneak a look at the note during Raghu’s celebration. Other MI players like Deepak Chahar and Jasprit Bumrah were a little surprised during his celebration.

He picked one wicket for 36 runs in his four-over spell in the clash against LSG. Notably, the leg spinner from Punjab was picked by MI for his base price of INR 30 lakh in the IPL 2026 mini-auction in December last year.
Speaking about the MI vs LSG clash, Mumbai failed to come up with a brilliant bowling show once again as Lucknow piled up 228/5 in the first innings. Mitchell Marsh (44) gave a blistering start to the batting, while Nicholas Pooran (63) and Himmat Singh (40*) hit crucial knocks to propel the side to a gigantic total.
