Rahul Dravid’s son Samit Dravid is currently playing in the U19 Cooch Behar Trophy.

Samit Dravid, son of former India captain and current India head coach Rahul Dravid, is following on the footsteps of his great father. He recently hammered 98 in a U19 match for Karnataka against Jammu and Kashmir in the ongoing Cooch Behar Trophy.

Karnataka defeated J&K by an innings and 130 runs because of Samit’s stunning knock of 13 fours and a six. Dravid’s son can be seen playing some extremely appealing shots in the video, which has been widely circulated on social media.

According to a Times Now report, J&K batted first in the Cooch Behar Trophy game and scored 170. Samit batted at No. 5 in Karnataka’s innings and added 233 runs for the fourth wicket with Karthikeya KP. The latter led the way with 163 points on 175 balls.

Karnataka declared their first innings on 480/5 in 100 overs, thanks to the excellent batting of Samit and Karthikeya. J&K failed to force Karnataka to bat again and lost the game by an innings deficit.

Here is the video:

Rahul Dravid and wife Vijetha had attended previous Cooch Behar Trophy matches of son Samit

Earlier, Dravid and his wife Vijeta were spotted during their son Samit’s Cooch Behar Trophy match against Uttarakhand at Mysuru’s SDNRW Ground. Dravid was on leave from national duty at the time and took advantage of the opportunity to watch his kid play. A similar image had gone viral on social media.

Samit scored 27 and 28 in Karnataka’s previous Cooch Behar Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh.

Rahul Dravid on the other hand, is in South Africa overseeing the intra-squad match between the Indian squad which is being played ahead of the two-Test series which begins on December 26. The first Test will be played at the SuperSport Park in Centurion from December 26 to December 30. The second Test will be played in the New Year at Newlands, Cape Town from January 3-7.
