Rahul Dravid’s son Samit is currently playing in the Maharaja T20 Trophy in Bangalore.
Rahul Dravid’s son Samit has received his maiden call-up to the India under-19 squad. He is set to be part of the squad that will take on Australia in three 50-over matches and two four-day games.
The Indian under-19 side will host Australia under-19 from September 21 to October 10. The white-ball games will be played in Puducherry and the red-ball matches will be hosted in Chennai.
The BCCI’s Junior Selection Committee announced squads for both series on Saturday, August 31, and Samit caught the attention of everyone.
Samit Dravid is having an underwhelming Maharaja T20 Trophy 2024 tournament
All-rounder Samit Dravid is currently playing in the Maharaja T20 Trophy tournament in Bangalore for Mysuru Warriors. He has scored 82 runs at a strike rate of 114 in seven innings so far and hasn’t been called to bowl yet. Mysuru have qualified for the semi-finals.
Samit’s numbers in domestic under-19 games recently, though, are highly impressive. In the Cooch Behar Trophy, which is the premier domestic red-ball tournament for under-19 men’s players in India, Samit played a significant role in Karnataka winning the title. He amassed 362 runs and picked up 16 wickets in eight games, including two wickets in the final against Mumbai.
Uttar Pradesh’s middle-order batsman Mohamed Amaan has been named the captain of the 50-over side. Madhya Pradesh’s Soham Patwardhan will lead the under-19 team in the four-day matches.
