Rajasthan Royals (RR) will play their first match of IPL 2025 on March 23 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Rajasthan Royals (RR) made history when they lifted the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) under the captaincy of Shane Warne. But, that was the only moment they had to cherish so far since the inception of the IPL. Their next best performance came in 2022, when they finished as runners-up.

Can they lay their hands on the trophy this time around? The 18th edition of the IPL is all set to begin, and RR will once again come up with a hope to lift the IPL trophy for the second time. They have tried to fill up all the holes that they had last season and picked some good players at the mega auction.

RR will face the last edition’s finalists, Sunrisers Hyderabad, in their first game of the IPL 2025. This clash will be played on Sunday, March 23 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. This will kick off RR’s journey in this much-awaited season.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2024

Rajasthan Royals had two different halves of performance in the IPL 2024. They had a brilliant start, and at one point, they were at top of the points table with eight wins in the first nine matches. But, then they lost the momentum and couldn’t win a single match in their last five group stage games.

Because of their brilliant first half, they made it to the playoffs, finishing third in the league stage. They then beat RCB in the Eliminator before losing to SRH in the Qualifier to finish third in the tournament.

RR will play three afternoon matches in IPL 2025, which will begin at 3:30 PM IST. These matches are against SRH on March 23, RCB on April 13, and RR on May 4. All of their remaining 11 league stage matches will have a start time of 7:30 PM in the evening.
