Rajat Patidar has been out of action for the last four weeks.

Madhya Pradesh and Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Rajat Patidar has been given clearance by the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (CoE) to return to action,as per the reports in ESPNCricinfo. The right-hander was out of action due to knee injury which he faced while playing for Madhya Pradesh against Punjab in the first round of the Ranji Trophy.

The reports claimed that Patidar completed a 10-day rehabilitation programme, and was given the RTP certificate (return to play) by the CoE’s medical team. He will be rejoining Madhya Pradesh team in Kolkata on Friday ahead of his team’s clash against Uttar Pradesh on November 30 in the third round of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025.

Madhya Pradesh started their campaign in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with a loss against Hyderabad and now Patidar’s return will be a big boost for them. They crumbled against Hyderabad, managing just 144 with the bat. They will be aiming for the strong comeback now as Patidar’s inclusion will strengthen the batting lineup.

Patidar smashed an unbeaten 205 runs against Punjab in the Ranji Trophy opener this season. There will be eyeballs on him when he makes his comeback as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans are also keeping a track on their skipper’s performance in the domestic T20 competition. His form will be instrumental for RCB’s success in the upcoming IPL season.

Rajat Patidar would be keen to make an impact in SMAT 2025

Rajat Patidar would be desperate to return to action for his state in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Last season, Madhya Pradesh failed to cross the final hurdle, losing in the finals against Mumbai. Patidar had a phenomenal season with the bat as he ended up being the second-highest run-scorer with 428 runs at a whopping strike rate of 186.08.

This time around, his only target will be to guide his team to the ultimate glory and contribute with the bat. He is one of the most experienced players in the Madhya Pradesh squad, and his runs will instil belief in the batting unit that failed to secure a positive start to the tournament.

Why was Rajat Patidar out of action?

The Madhya Pradesh skipper was out because of a left-knee niggle.

When will Rajat Patidar be back in action?

Rajat Patidar can return to action on Sunday against Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025.
