Rashid Khan dismissed Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Shardul Thakur to register his first hat-trick of IPL 2023
Stand-in Captain of Gujarat Titans, Rashid Khan registered the first hat trick of the IPL 2023. Despite his magical final over, He could not stop the Kolkata Knight Riders from cruising toward the victory. Leg spinner Rashid Khan tried his best to change the game with his final over but KKR’s Rinku Singh stole the show at the end.
After Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana’s 100 runs partnership, KKR looked comfortable. Alzarri Joseph sent these two back into the dugout. Yet KKR’s batting was long enough to chase down 205. Rashid in his first 3 overs conceded 35 runs but in his final overs completely shifted the momentum toward Gujarat.
Rashid Khan bagged three in three
In the final over of his spell, Stand-in captain of the Titans, Rashid Khan got three big wickets in the first three balls. He got Andre Russell caught by KS Bharat behind the wicket in the first, then Sunil Narine caught out by Jayant Yadav at the deep mid wicket in the second, and Shardul Thakur trapped in front of the stumps in the third ball of his final over. This was the first hat trick of the IPL 2023. Apart from the IPL, He also has a Hat trick in International T20s, Big Bash League, and in Caribbean Premier League.

Later in the game, Rinku Singh finished off with five sixes in five balls in the last over to provide Kolkata Knight Riders a memorable run chase in the history of the Indian Premier League. KKR have now earned 4 points in their 3 games, while Gujarat Titans have lost their first game this season. Rashid Khan was leading the Gujarat Titans squad in the absence of Hardik Pandya who was unwell for the game.
