Ravi Ashwin names an uncapped player who might fetch 12-13 crores in IPL 2024 auction

Ravi Ashwin predicted Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans might go for this player in the IPL 2024 auction.

The Indian Premier League mini-auction 2024 is just a few weeks away from now and teams have already announced their retention list on 26th November. There were a few big surprises in the team’s retention as big names like Shardul Thakur, Kyle Jamieson, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, and Loekie Ferguson were also released from their respective squads. All these names will go into auction once again on 19th December in Dubai. IPL mini-auction will happen out of India for the first time in history. 

There are a few more names who made it big in the Indian domestic circuit and may earn big money in the upcoming mini-auction in Dubai. Indian off-spinner and part of Rajasthan Royals, Ravichandran Ashwin has made a bold prediction. Ashwin predicted that Shahrukh Khan would be the one to get a huge amount in the auction. Shahrukh Khan was released by Punjab Kings on Sunday. Shahrukh was part of the PBKS from IPL 2021. 

Ravi Ashwin’s huge prediction before IPL 2024 auction

Ravi Ashwin predicted that CSK and Gujarat Titans may have a big auction war for Shahrukh Khan. Ashwin said, “I can see a war between CSK and Gujarat for Shahrukh Khan. Gujarat have let go of Hardik Pandya, Gujarat needs a player who can finish the innings… Shahrukh was at Rs 9 crore At Kings, and I thought he showed his skills pretty well. Is it a decent release? Because I think he might end up going for Rs 12-13 crore again.” 

Ravi Ashwin on his YouTube channel further added that Chennai Super Kings might give Mitchell Starc a miss for Shahrukh Khan. Ashwin added, “CSK might even take a chance of missing out on Mitchell Starc to get Shahrukh Khan because they don’t have a local player or a presence. They went for Shahrukh Khan in the mega auction, and that’s why I’m guessing so.” Chennai went aggressively for Shahrukh Khan in the mega auction in IPL 2022. 

Shahrukh Khan has represented Punjab Kings in 33 matches in the Indian Premier League. Shahrukh had a decent IPL 2023 and batted with an impressive strike rate of 165.96. Shahrukh didn’t have a great Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy for Tamil Nadu but Chennai will love to go for him as he brings the local experience to the franchise. The IPL trading window is still on and one big trade has already happened as Hardik Pandya joined MI from GT.
