Ravindra Jadeja gifts bat to CSK teammate Ajay Mandal after winning IPL 2023

Ravindra Jadeja had hit a six and a four with the same bat in the last over to win the fifth IPL title for CSK.

On Monday, May 29, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the IPL 2023 final featured a matchup between the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT).

The veteran Indian all-rounder gave his bat to Ajay Mandal of the Chennai Super Kings after Ravindra Jadeja's game-winning run gave Chennai their sixth IPL championship.

Speaking about the IPL 2023 championship game, Gujarat Titans won the toss and choose to bat first. Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha provided a blistering start to the first innings. Gill scored 39 runs in 20 balls, whereas Saha amassed 54 runs in 39 deliveries.

But the real impact came from Sai Sudharsan, who smacked 96 runs in 47 deliveries and helped Gujarat post 214/4.

The MS Dhoni-led team got off to a strong start with the bat thanks to Devon Conway's (47 off 25) and Ruturaj Gaikwad's (26 off 16) contributions for Chennai. Additionally, Shivam Dube scored 32 runs in 21 balls while playing an undefeated knock.

Ravindra Jadeja blasted back-to-back boundaries in the last over for Chennai to win the game as the game came down to the wire, giving them their fifth championship.

Ajay Mandal shared a photo on his Instagram of CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja gifting him a bat and penned a heartwarming note, and thanked Jadeja and Chennai for giving him the opportunity to share a dressing room with Jadeja.

It was also revealed that this was the same bat with which Jadeja hit the two winning boundary shots for CSK.

“Hope you guys remember that Sir Jadeja’s last 10 runs of 2 balls in final match. After that he gave me that bat only as a blessing..sir Jadeja for you. Big thanks to @chennaiipl for giving me the opportunity to share a dressing room with Jaddu bhai,” Ajay Mandal wrote on his Instagram story.
