Ravindra Jadeja explains reason behind his unique celebration after taking Mushfiqur Rahim's catch

Ravindra Jadeja took an exceptional catch at point in IND vs BAN match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Bangladesh chose to bat first after winning the toss in their fourth game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against India in Pune. Indian bowlers did well to limit Bangladesh to a score of 256/8. Even though Bangladesh had a good start with Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das, they struggled to maintain their momentum. At first, it seemed like they would easily reach 300, but Indian spinners performed strongly during the middle-overs.
Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav have been outstanding in the tournament, consistently taking wickets in the middle-overs. Towards the end of the game, Jasprit Bumrah was once again exceptional with his death bowling. Despite losing Hardik Pandya to an early injury, Indian bowlers put up a strong performance. Shardul Thakur also played his part when called upon.
Overall, Bangladesh's total was lesser than what they would have hoped for, and Indian team should have a relatively straight-forward chase.
Ravindra Jadeja's all-round brilliance
Ravindra Jadeja emerged as the hero for India, not just with his bowling but also his fielding. He managed to secure two wickets for 38 runs in his 10 overs. Throughout the World Cup, he has been a valuable asset, taking a total of seven wickets in the four matches he has played so far.
Jadeja is known for his exceptional fielding skills, and once again, he lived up to the expectations. He took a spectacular diving catch to dismiss Mushfiqur Rahim, and this catch proved to be crucial. Mushfiqur was batting at 38 when he was dismissed.
Ravindra Jadeja explains reason behind his unique celebration
During the mid-innings interval, Jadeja explained the reason for his unique celebration following Mushfiqur Rahim's catch, saying, "The celebration was dedicated to our fielding coach. After every game, we get the best fielder award, and so I wanted to show the fielding coach, See, I am here."
After each match, India's fielding coach, T Dilip, acknowledges the best fielder of the game. Jadeja's outstanding catch in this match clearly established him as a strong contender for this recognition. In the preceding three matches, Virat Kohli, Shardul Thakur, and KL Rahul have all been honored with this award. Now, Jadeja will be striving to secure it for himself.
