Ravindra Jadeja scored 34 runs before getting retired hurt in the first innings.

Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are clashing in the Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League 2026 on Friday, May 29. RR skipper Riyan Parag won the toss and opted to bat first in the clash.

The winner of the encounter will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the final. While GT lost to RCB in Qualifier 1, RR defeated SRH in the Eliminator.

In the first innings, RR suffered two big blows at the start, losing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel within two overs. Ravindra Jadeja was promoted up the order and walked out at four. He did his job well, adding 70 runs in the powerplay with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

Jadeja could not bat for long, as he had to retire hurt after scoring 34 runs off 19 deliveries. After the eighth over, Jadeja struggled with some issues and left the field. Riyan Parag arrived at the field after his ouster.

However, Jadeja’s ouster hampered RR’s batting. Parag (11), Dasun Shanaka (3), and Jofra Archer (7) lost their wickets cheaply as RR lost three more wickets. Notably, Jadeja was sent early after RR lost two early wickets. He managed to stabilise the innings but his ouster led to RR’s batting woes.

After Archer’s dismissal, Jadeja returned to the field to resume his batting in the 13th over. Since he had retired hurt, he was allowed to resume his batting. Now, it remains to be seen if he will bowl in the second innings. He is a crucial spinner for Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, Sooryavanshi has batted with patience for RR, reaching his half-century in the 13th over. RR reached 120/5 at the end of 13 overs, with Sooryavanshi and Jadeja on strike.
