IND vs ENG: Ravindra Jadeja reaches NCA, doubtful for remainder of the series

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is currently in NCA for rehabilitation.
In a concerning turn of events for Indian cricket team, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has arrived at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for rehabilitation after sustaining hamstring injury during the opening test against England in Hyderabad. The injury forced him to sit out for the upcoming second test at Vishakhapatnam, adding to India’s injury concerns, particularly with KL Rahul also sidelined and Virat Kohli unavailable for personal reasons.
Jadeja’s hamstring setback occurred on the fourth day of the Hyderabad test, ruling him out of the second match scheduled to commence on February 2 in Visakhapatnam. The absence of Ravindra Jadeja further weakens India’s batting line-up. The BCCI’s selection committee, to fill the void, included Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar and Washington Sundar in the squad for the second test.
Ravindra Jadeja reached NCA
Sharing his situation with fans, Jadeja took to Instagram on Tuesday, posting a picture of the NCA with the caption, “Home for next few days.” The BCCI medical team is closely monitoring the progress of both Jadeja and Rahul, as stated in an official statement. The absence of these key players raises questions about the team’s composition and strategy for the remainder of the series against England.

With uncertainty surrounding Jadeja’s return, a report from the Times of India has hinted that the all-rounder might miss the entire test series against England. A source within the BCCI stated, “Rahul could perhaps return later in this series, but Jadeja’s injury could be more serious. Let’s see what the NCA’s medical team tells us.” This revelation adds to the anxiety for Indian cricket team for the reminder of the test series.
The injury, incurred during a run-out orchestrated by England captain Ben Stokes, might have far-reaching implications for the series.
