Ravindra Jadeja brought up his 21st test half-century during the Gabba test.

Australia have dominated India in the third test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 in Brisbane.

After posting 445 runs in their first innings, the hosts have been terrific with the ball. Captain Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc have so far claimed two wickets each while Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazlewood have chipped in with one wicket apiece.

India started the fourth day at 51/4 and lost skipper Rohit Sharma soon. KL Rahul‘s 84-run knock provided much-needed resilience for India. Rahul finally found a reliable partner in Ravindra Jadeja, who brought up his 21st test half-century.

Playing his first test after missing the initial two games, Jadeja looked at ease, smacking six boundaries on his way to half-century.

An eye-catching moment came during the 50th over of the Indian innings when Jadeja clipped a leg-stump delivery from Mitchell Starc to reach his fifty. Celebrating his resilient knock, the all-rounder brought out his iconic sword celebration, delighting the Indian fans at the Gabba.

Meanwhile, at the time of writing India are 185/6 with Ravindra Jadeja (57*) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (9*) at the crease.

With rain forecasted for later today and tomorrow, India are slowly edging towards safety. Adding to Australia’s woes, Josh Hazlewood’s recent calf injury has left them with only three specialist bowlers.

India will aim to first avoid the follow-on, as they look to head to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) with the series level at 1-1.
