RCB overtake CSK to become top-valued IPL team after winning 2025 season

RCB have a brand value of USD 269 million.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is the richest franchise T20 league in the world. According to a study by US-based global investment bank Houlihan Lokey Inc., the brand value of IPL in 2025 is USD 3.9 billion. The tournament has observed an increase of 13.8 per cent in its brand value over the last year.

Moreover, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who won their maiden IPL title in 2025, have replaced Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the most valued franchise in IPL. RCB have a brand value of USD 269 million. With a brand value of USD 235 million, CSK have slipped to the third position.

Mumbai Indians (MI) are placed in the second spot with a valuation of USD 242 million. With a brand value of USD 222 million, three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) grab fourth place.

Punjab Kings observe the highest growth in brand value

Punjab Kings (PBKS), who ended as runners-up in IPL 2025, have witnessed the maximum growth in brand value over the last year. With a 39.6 per cent growth, they are ranked ninth with a brand value of USD 141 million. Lucknow Super Giants, with a brand value of USD 122 million, occupy the 10th spot.

Harsh Talikoti, director of Financial and Valuation Advisory at Houlihan Lokey, said that the IPL continues to set benchmarks in the sports business over the years.

“The IPL continues to set benchmarks in the sports business. Franchise valuations have soared, media rights deals have reached record highs, and brand partnerships have diversified across sectors,” he was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

Among the rest of the teams, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are placed in the fifth and sixth spots respectively. SRH have a brand value of USD 154 million while DC have a valuation of USD 152 million.

Rajasthan Royals (RR), with a valuation of USD 146 million, occupy the seventh spot. Gujarat Titans (GT) are placed in the eighth spot with a brand value of USD 142 million.
