Virat Kohli became the fastest to 15,000 ODI runs.
The Indian Cricket Team batter Virat Kohli made a strong return to ODI cricket in the first match of the series against West Indies in Thiruvananthapuram. The former India captain scored an unbeaten 139 off 88 balls to help India chase down 296 runs.
Kohli’s century was his 55th in ODI cricket and his 86th international hundred. The knock also took him past the 15,000-run mark in ODIs, making him only the second batter after Sachin Tendulkar to reach the milestone.
The innings also saw Kohli break several major records held by Tendulkar and other former greats. He became the first batter to score 7,000 ODI runs on home soil and also matched Tendulkar’s record of 60 List A centuries.
Virat Kohli then ended the series with a golden duck in the third ODI in New Chandigarh. Despite the low score in the final game, he finished the series with 168 runs from three matches.
