Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored a half-century in the GT vs RR clash.

Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are clashing in the Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League 2026 on May 29. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi came up yet another brilliant batting show after RR won the toss and opted to bat first.

At the start, RR lost two quick wickets in Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel. However, Sooryavanshi kept his patience at the one end and displayed a mature approach. He and Ravindra Jadeja helped the team to reach 70 runs in the powerplay.

Sooryvanshi, who is known for his aggressive approach, adopted a slow approach this time, reaching his fifty in 31 balls. However, after that, he put his foot on the accelerator, slamming bowlers all over the park. Eventually, he scored 96 runs off 47 deliveries with the help of eight fours and seven sixes at a strike rate of 204.

Once again, Sooryavanshi lost his wicket just a few runs ahead of his century. He became a victim of Kagiso Rabada in the 18th over. Although the left-handed batter could not reach his century, he broke multiple batting records in the encounter.

• Joint second-fastest to 1000 runs in the IPL in 23 innings. (Lendl Simmons- 23 innings, Shaun Marsh- 21 innings).
• Fastest to 1000 runs in the IPL in the number of balls played (440).

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals piled up a good total of 214/6 in the first innings. Other than Sooryavanshi, Jadeja also scored a brilliant knock of an unbeaten 45 in the clash. Towards the end, Donovan Ferreira added quickfire 38 runs off 11 deliveries, smacking four sixes in Rashid Khan’s last over. For GT, Rabada and Jason Holder picked two wickets each.
