The 19th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) is just a few days way from now. The stage is set, and it is expected to be another blockbuster season of the world’s biggest cricket tournament. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will put their title on the line.
They beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final of the last edition. RCB will be part of the tournament’s opener. They will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 28 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The final of the tournament will be played on May 31.
A total of 74 games are expected to be played in the IPL 2026, including four matches in the playoff round. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule of the first phase of the IPL 2026 for 20 games due to state elections. The first phase includes four group matches each for all ten teams.
Hence, the fans are eagerly waiting for the entire schedule, and as per some media reports, the BCCI is all set to release the schedule of the remaining tournament pretty soon.
BCCI to release the complete IPL 2026 schedule in 3-4 days – Reports
All ten teams are preparing for the mega event, which will begin on March 28 (Saturday). There are not many days left until the start of the tournament, and every fan is waiting for the complete schedule.
Well, the BCCI has finally made a revelation. As per the report from Cricbuzz, the BCCI has talked with all ten franchises and told them they would reveal the remaining schedule very soon. The report also suggests that the Indian board is expected to release the schedule within 3-4 days, while it will be a usual 74-game season.
Vijay Tagore, a renowned cricket analyst with Cricbuzz, tweeted, “The IPL has informed the franchises that the remaining schedule will take 3–4 days to finalize. First 20 fixtures (till April 12) announced; 54 matches still to be slotted. The season, of course, kicks off on March 28.”
Notably, the assembly elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Assam were the reasons that the BCCI announced the schedule for the first 20 games only in the first phase. The IPL games are scheduled to play in Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Chepauk Stadium in Tamil Nadu, and Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Assam.
Meanwhile, all ten teams have started their preseason camp, and all the overseas players have started joining the team. There have been a few teams struggling with injuries, and a number of big names have been ruled out. Irrespective of injuries, we are in for another epic IPL season ahead.
