Allowances doled out for the BCCI President, Secretary and other office bearers revealed.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revised the payment slabs for its officials and including the president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and joint-secretary which will give them a huge increase in payday and also an enhancement in the perks they receive.

As per a report in PTI, the increase in allowances doled out to the BCCI office bearers was tabled in the Apex Council meeting on Sunday but came into effect last October. The per diem (daily allowance) has been revised after more than seven years.

The world's richest board's officer bearers used to receive USD 750 per day while travelling abroad. A BCCI office bearer will now, however, get a daily allowance of USD 1000 and travel first class while on foreign visits.

The BCCI President, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and joint-secretary will now be entitled to Rs 40,000 per day for meetings within India and business class travel as per the PTI reports which cited the BCCI document.

They will receive a daily allowance of Rs 30,000 for "work travel." They can reserve a suite room for both domestic and international travel. Additionally, the IPL chairman's allowances have been included in the category of office holders.

A BCCI office bearer's position is an honorary one, it should be noted. Its highly salaried workers, including the CEO, will receive a daily allowance of USD 650 when traveling abroad and Rs 15,000 when staying in India.

Members of BCCI apex council and Cricket advisory committee also get pay raise

Apart from the BCCI office bearers, the members of the BCCI Apex Council, including two representatives from the Indian Cricketers' Association, will get Rs 40,000 per day for their quarterly meetings and USD 500 on overseas tours.

BCCI also increased the allowances of the members of its state units who will now get Rs 30,000 per day during domestic travel and USD 400 on foreign travel.

Cricket Advisory Committee, which picks the head coach of both men's and women's national teams and has three members, will be paid Rs 3.5 lakh each for meetings. Foreign travel is unlikely in their case but each of them is entitled to an amount of USD 400 per day for this.
