The leading wicket-taker of IPL 2023, Mark Wood isn't included in LSG's playing XI against SRH tonight.

Lucknow’s BRABV Ekana Cricket Stadium is ready to host Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 10th game of the IPL 2023. Lucknow Super Giants had a wonderful start to their campaign in this season’s Indian Premier League at their home Ekana. Pacer Mark Wood played an important role in the opening game, he picked up 5 wickets against Delhi Capitals at the same venue, just a few days ago. Leading in the Purple Cap race, Wood will be missing out from the action against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mark Wood is caught up with the flu and he will be sitting out from the game.

Mark Wood had a wonderful season so far

Captain KL Rahul informed everyone in the toss about Mark Wood’s unavailability. Rahul said that Mark Wood has caught the flu and will be on the sideline for this game. Mark Wood bowled a magical spell against Delhi Capitals last Saturday. In his 4 overs, Wood gave 14 runs and picked up 5 wickets in the match. Wood also had a good game against Chennai Super Kings. He picked up 3 wickets in Chennai. Currently, he is leading the purple cap chart with 8 wickets in 2 games in the IPL 2023.

No Quinton de Kock in Lucknow's Playing Eleven

Apart from Mark Wood, Lucknow’s other pacer Avesh Khan is also dealing with an injury and is out of the action against Sunrisers Hyderabad. LSG management have not picked Quinton De Kock in the playing eleven. They have preferred to go with Kyle Mayers as an opener and Nicolas Pooran as their wicketkeeper option. Kyle Mayers has been batting marvelously this season. So far he has scored 126 runs in 2 innings.

For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Aiden Markram has returned to the squad and will be leading SRH for the first time. Sunrisers Eastern Cape were crowned champions of the SA20 league under Aiden Markram’s captaincy. SRH played their opening game against Rajasthan Royals under the captaincy of pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar in Hyderabad.
