BCCI announces revised schedule for India's tour of Sri Lanka 2024

India will play three T20I series and as many ODIs against Sri Lanka from July 27 to August 7.

In the latest development, the schedule of India’s upcoming away white-ball series against Sri Lanka has been revised, and the start of the contest has been pushed back to July 27, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on July 13.

On July 11, 2024, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed the full schedule of the upcoming white-ball series against India. The release also added that the Men in Blue will arrive in the Island Nation in July.

Both Sri Lanka and India will play three T20Is and as many ODIs in the upcoming exciting series.

This is the first time since 2021 that Men in Blue will be visiting the Island Nation. Both sides played four T20Is and three ODIs the last time India toured Sri Lanka. India won the T20I series 3-1 and lost the ODI series 2-0. Interestingly, both nations haven’t played against each other since the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup.

Originally, the white ball series between India and Sri Lanka was to be played from July 26 to August 7. However, the BCCI has revised the schedule of the upcoming series and it will now begin on July 27.

Initially, the first T20I match was to be played on July 26, followed by the second on July 27, and the final game on July 29.

According to the revised schedule, the first T20I match will be now played on July 27, followed by the remaining two games on July 28 and July 30. The three-match T20I series will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.

Initially, the ODI series was scheduled to start on August 1, but according to the revised fixtures, the first ODI match will be now played on August 2.

The second and third ODI matches will be played on August 4 and August 7, with all three ODIs to be held at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
